Stud and Training Center
Home Of The Champions
Champions are already prepared for a successful racing career at Mühlen, Germany. International Trainers from Italy, Sweden, Holland and Germany have successfully used the benefits of our training facilities. The individual training stables accomodate up to 16 boxes.
Only a few kilometers from the A1 motorway, the training center Mühlen lies centrally located, to the north lies Hamburg and Scandinavia, to the west the Ruhrgebiet and France, to the south Munich and Italy.
Training all year round under optimal conditions
Unique in the world is the covered training track with a length of 1,050 meters and 8 meter width. Whether summer or winter, snow, rain or heat, the training of racehorses takes place regardless of weather conditions on a sandy turf that protects the legs and joints of horses.
A special feature is the covered water house. A natural, flowing stream serves for cooling the hooves and legs. The training grounds include an 800 meter straight track as well as countless large and small paddocks that offer relief and recovery to stressed racehorses. The conditrainer with a radius of 46 meters and a circumference of 124 meters supports the movement of 12 horses concurrently.
Training for the champions
The speed of the conditrainer is infinitely variable; the flooring is a mixture of sand and rubber granules. Special attention has been paid to security. The individual boxes inside the conditrainer are 10 meters long and separated by a buffer. Thereby contact between horses is prevented.
Countless champions have benefitted from our training facilities:
- Abano AS (Derby and Prix D’Amerique-winner)
- Freiherr AS (3-time Breeders-Crown-winner)
- Campo Ass (3-time winner of Campionato Europeo)
- Every Way (Derby winner)
- Diamond Way (Derby winner)
- Sunset Lane (Derby winner)
The results are impressive; since 1990 horses from Breeder Alwin Schockemöhle have won as many international Group 1 Races as all other German breeders combined.
